Swimming With Dolphins

The dolphins at Melka are very special. Three have been rescued from a circus where they were severely mistreated, and one was injured in a fishing net. Here they have recovered their health. Now they work with humans for play and healing. If you come to the dolphin pool you are entering their home. In the ocean, dolphins travel great distances and have complete freedom to move quickly wherever they wish to go. They can choose whether or not to interact with humans. So here we must respect their space.

Seawalker

Seawalker is a unique diving system, provides an opportunity to observe the underwater world to a depth of 15 feet without certification, and without getting their hair wet. Participants actually walk on the bottom, rather than swim while numerous exotic fish and sea life surround them. Guest will have 30 minutes of actual underwater time to a maximum depth of 15 feet. A large, full face window in the Sea Walker helmet offers a close-up view of the amazing creatures from below. Guest with heart or lung problems, on medication, pregnant, asthma or other respiratory ailments, etc can not dive.

INSTRUCTIONS :
1. After change into your swimsuit, then it’s off to Seawalker station, it takes only 3 minutes from the beach.
2. Stay calm, our staffs will serve you well, and you don’t have to worry about anything! Fresh air is constantly supplied from a hose to the helmet.
3. You go down the stairs to the bottom of the sea while seeing the wild fish surrounding you.
4. Just walk in! Our instructors will always accompany you during the activity. Just relax and feel your closelyness to the nature.
5. With our unique helmet design, you can get face-to-face with the sea-life and be able to take a breathe the same as you do on the surface. You do not even get your hair wet and also still can wear your glass or contact lenses.

Paintball

WHAT IS PAINTBALL ?
In 15 short years, the sport of paintball has become recognized as one of the world’s most exciting outdoor participation sports. Paintball is played in over 40 countries by millions of men and women of all ages and lifestyles. Whether homemakers or high-school students, professionals or retirees, all paintball players share in common a love for adventure and a strong competitive spirit.

Capture the Flag
Paintball is a combination of the childhood games “tag” and “hide & seek,” but is much more challenging and sophisticated. Although there are many different game formats, typically a group of players will divide into two teams to play “capture the flag.” The number of players on each team can vary from one or two, five or seven or ten or even up to a 100 players in the case of Paintball Bali’s field. The object of the game is to go out and capture the center flag and bring it back to your opponent’s starting point.While you are trying to capture the flag, you also try to eliminate opposing players by tagging them with a paintball expelled from a special airgun called a “paintgun.” Games run from 20 to 45 minutes, depending on which of the three fields are used at Paintball Bali and the number of players playing. Between games, players take a break to get more paintballs and have a snack or a drink while they share stories about the thrills of victory and the usually funny agonies of defeat. Win or lose, everyone has a good time and there’s usually the next game waiting for you.

Paintballs
A paintball is a round, thin-skinned gelatin capsule with colored liquid inside it. Paintballs are similar to large round vitamin capsules or bath oil beads. The fill inside paintballs is non-toxic, non-caustic, water-soluable and biodegradable. It rinses out of clothing and off skin with mild soap and water. When a paintball tags a player, the thin gelatin skin splits open, and the liquid inside leaves a bright “paint” mark. A player who is marked is eliminated from the game.

Paintguns
Paintguns, also called “markers,” come in a variety of shapes and styles (click here for GTF information). The GTFs used have power systems that use large refillable cylinders called “tanks” or “bottles” that give hundreds of shots before needing to be refilled. With our semi-automatic GTF paintguns, the first time you want to shoot you must cock the paintgun (usually by pulling back a cocking knob or handle), but after you shoot the first paintball the paintgun’s action will recock the paintgun for you; you simply squeeze the trigger each time you want to shoot a paintball. The international safety limit on the speed (measured in feet per second, “FPS”) at which a paintgun shoots a paintball is 300 fps. Paintball Bali adheres to this standard. We use a chronograph to test for speed limits, and all paintguns can be adjusted to shoot under the speed limit. A paintgun’s range is limited, too; even shooting 300 fps, at maximum elevation with barrel pointed up into the air, a paintgun can lob a paintball only about 50 yards.

 

Safety
For safety, paintball players always must wear goggles specifically designed for paintball to protect their eyes. Goggles must be worn during a game and at all times when a person is in an area where shooting is permitted, such as the target range or chronograph area. A protective facemask is mandatory nearly everywhere, and should be worn regardless. Paintball is a very safe sport as long as safety rules are followed. Insurance statistics have shown that paintball is safer than golf, jogging, tennis, swimming and many other sports. Paintball Bali referees are primarily on the field to enforce safety and game rules. No physical contact is permitted in the game, and players are ejected from games or the playsite for breaking safety or playing rules. Fields have boundaries, and a player who steps outside a field’s boundary is eliminated from that game.

Paintball is a sport played by people from all professions and lifestyles. It is a sport where women and men compete equally, and where age is not dominated by youth. Like a game of chess, being able to think quickly and decisively is what makes you a star in paintball. Intelligence and determination, not merely strength, speed or agility, are key to success in the sport. Paintball is a character-building sport. Players learn about teamwork, gain self-confidence and develop leadership abilities while having fun and getting welcome stress-relief. Increasingly, corporations are finding the benefits of having their staff and management participate in paintball games. Paintball is an exciting sport, and above all paintball is fun! General Safety Rules
Always wear approved goggles at shooting range and in or near playing field. Not adhering to this rule is cause for immediate dismissal from the games. In goggles required areas the goggles/mask may not be removed for any reason which includes but is not limited to: fogging, painted lenses or during an injury. The provided barrel blocking device must be used when not shooting or when you are not in an active field of play. Never shoot at anyone who is not wearing approved eye protection or anyone whose safety gear is not in place. A player is emphatically disallowed from shooting at any other player showing neutrality symbol, any non-player, any judge or any animal or bird.

No player may shoot at any person, object or animal outside the perimeter of the active playing field. This includes not shooting an opponent who is within 5 meters from you. No player may intentionality shoot at any other player’s head or face. Repeats will be out of the game for the rest of the day. Observe all safety rules applicable to firearms when handling paintball guns or other gas powered devices capable of launching projectiles. Never shoot anything from a paintgun except the water-soluble paintballs provided by Paintball Bali. All paintguns will have been chronographed prior to use in play and shall not exceed a velocity of 300 feet per second. Never shoot at another person in anger or with intent the cause harm. Firearms, knives, and explosives are strictly forbidden.  

 No physical confrontation between players, i.e. hand-to-hand combat, taking prisoners, etc. is permitted. Consumption of alcoholic beverages on the playing field area is prohibited. Smoking is allowed only up to the staging area and strictly prohibited on the field or when handling the paintgun. National, regional, state, provincial and local laws apply. Paintball guns used in paintball games must not have a paintball or other projectile chambered while in the staging or parking area unless used by referees for demonstration purposes. (excludes target range area). Never look down the barrel to see if it’s dirty. Call on a referee if there is any problem with the Paintguns.

Paintguns without approved barrel blocking devices must be carried on safe, with the barrel pointing to the ground while in the staging, neutral or parking area. No waving them around in a neutral area. No going up trees (or no roofs, if applicable). No discharging or dry firing of paintball guns is allowed in any neutral or non-playing area. Do not use a paintgun until you have been versed on its use and understand such use. Do not shoot across neutral or staging areas or parking lots.You cannot play or spectate without signing a waiver/liability release. The safety rules mentioned on this card is the abbreviated version. Full rules are clearly posted next to the stage area. It is assumed that every player will read the full safety rules posted.

However we do suggest reserving ahead of time to avoid disappointment. Situated near the beach in the lush green rice fields of Umalas. Our Stables provide the most comprehensive riding facility on the island. We offer rice field tours, beach tours, as well as lessons for every level of rider. Ask about our programs especially suited to beginners and children.

 

For those who want the complete Bali riding experience why not stay with us in our boutique hotel-style accommodation in a tropical setting, complete with swimming pool and children’s playground. At The Umalas Equestrian Resort you will not find large groups on head to tail tours. Even though we have 32 horses each rider has their own guide. More experienced riders can also enjoy the thrill of cantering along the beach. We were the original and are still the best.

Tours & Lessons Offered at Umalas Equestrian Resort
The Umalas Equestrian Resort offers daily tours & lessons. Below you will find a summary of these activities. The lessons are held between 8:00 – 11:00am & 3:00 – 5:30 pm and the beach tours start at 8:00am and either 3:00pm (3 hour Beach Tour) or 3:30 pm daily (2 hour Beach Tour)

 

30-minute Rice Field Tour : US$25
This tour is thoroughly recommended for beginners and children. The horses are walked by a hand held guide through a picturesque Balinese village, alongside rice paddies and a charming lane.

2 – hour Beach Tour : US$72
Open to all ranges of adult riders & children from 8 years onwards, the tour starts from the stables, passes through a Balinese village, down across a river, and out onto a small stretch of road that leads directly to fabulous Batu Belig beach, which riders and horses will enjoy for around an hour. This tour is concluded on the same route back. All beginners and children will have their own personal guide at no extra cost.
Experienced riders will have the chance to canter along the sandy shores.

3 – hour Beach Tour : US$102
Open to all ranges of adult riders & children from 8 years onwards, the tour starts from the stables, passes through a Balinese village, down across a river, and out onto a small stretch of road that leads directly to fabulous Batu Belig Beach, which riders will turn onto in the direction of Canggu. They will follow this stunning beach up along the coast until Berawa Beach for an hour then turn into the rice fields and ride for 30 minutes alongside the paddies, stopping at a beachside hotel for refreshments. To then return along the beach. This tour is concluded on the same route back.

Pony Ride : US$7.50
For our youngest guests who want to experience riding our guides will take the children around our property on the back of one of our ponies. The Umalas Equestrian Resort encourages and welcomes outside guests, of all ages, to join all the aforementioned activities, but suggests reserving ahead of time to avoid disappointment. Please be advised that the maximum weight limit for the comfort of our horses is 85 kg.

Please find below a brief description of our various lessons. All lessons are held at The Umalas Equestrian Resort in either the indoor or outdoor arenas.  

 Beginner Lunge Lessons : US$32.50
This private lesson is offered to instill confidence in beginners and is conducted in the riding hall or outdoor arena, with the rider led by an instructor who has the horse on a lunge (long rope). The rider does not steer the horse, but learns to move with the horse through different paces – walk, trot and canter.

Dressage Lessons : US$42
Are appropriate for intermediate and experienced riders. Intermediate riders refine their skills of steering the horses while experienced riders will fulfill dressage skills.

Show Jumping : US$42
Due to the respect of the horses, these lessons are strictly for experienced riders. Riders will be instructed on how to gauge distance as well as keep horses in line to further their jumping seat.

What child doesn’t love horses? Girls and boys grow up dreaming and pretending of riding horses. What is the big attraction children see in horses? Perhaps it’s the way that being around horses makes them feel? Or it could be the sheer fun of having a friend who is six feet tall. There are many reasons kids are attracted to horses and there are good reasons why we should introduce our children to the world of horses. The Umalas Equestrian Resort offers daily Lunge, Dressage- and Show Jumping Lessons for children from the age of 6 years. These lessons are held between 8:00 – 11:00am & 3:00 – 5:30 pm.
We also offer daily pony rides for the younger children.
